The road to Nebraska was not straightforward for Lexi Rodriguez. Head coach John Cook hesitated to offer her a spot on the program's Dream Camp, preferring taller liberos at the time. However, assistant coach Kayla Banwarth strongly advocated for Rogriguez, insisting she deserved a chance. During her time with the Huskers, she set a historic digs record and earned recognition as one of the college volleyball's top liberos.
