Nebraska Volleyball’s Merrit Beason shares glimpses of her time in Atlanta as she makes her Pro Volleyball debut with the Atlanta Vibes

Merrit Beason was one of the most well-known faces of the NCAA women's volleyball scene, playing for the Nebraska Cornhuskers. After graduating from college, the youngster signed with the Atlanta Vibes in the Pro Volleyball Federation, and recently gave fans glimpses of her time in the new city.

In 2024, Beason had an incredible season with the Huskers, playing a major role in their run to the semifinals. She played in 36 matches for the team, scoring 2.78 kills per set with a .233 hitting percentage and 30 service aces. Her best performances included Nebraska's clash against Purdue and Maryland. Against Purdue, she scored 22 kills, eight digs, and three blocks. In the match against Maryland, she recorded 19 kills and 10 blocks.

In November 2024, Beason was selected by the Atlanta Vibes as the first overall pick in the 2024 Pro Volleyball Federation Draft. Since then, the 22-year-old has been spending her time in Atlanta, and recently took to Instagram to share photos of her time in the new city, writing,

“First few weeks.”

Merrit Beason opens up about joining the Atlanta Vibes

After an impressive run with the Nebraska Cornhuskers during her collegiate career, Merrit Beason expressed that she was excited about joining the Atlanta Vibes for the next chapter of her volleyball journey.

Speaking to the team, the youngster explained that she was looking forward to playing with former teammate Marley Monserez and training under Nebraska’s Kayla Banwarth.

“I'm super excited to be going to Atlanta. Obviously it's close to home for me and so I'll be able to see my family and see my friends a little bit more. And then also my freshman year setter, Marley Monserez, is one of their setters so I'm super excited to just be playing with her again. And Kayla (Banwarth) obviously played here and coached here so I'm super excited to have a Husker as my coach and be able to learn from.”

Beason also expressed her enthusiasm about being a part of the Pro Volleyball Federation, saying,

“I’m super excited to be playing in PVF obviously just because of the opportunity to stay here in the states. I think they're really working to push volleyball forward and to make pro volleyball here in the US a big deal and so I'm super excited to be a small part of it.”

Merrit Beason made her debut for the Atlanta Vibes on January 10, and has since gone on to start for the team four more times. She has had an impressive run with the team, notably posting 23 kills in their match against the Columbus Fury.
