Netflix announced the release date for the second part of Simone Biles' docuseries, Simone Biles Rising. Biles is fresh from dominating the Paris Olympic Games, winning three gold medals and a silver.
Biles won the gold in the women’s artistic team all-around in Paris alongside Hezly Rivera, Jordan Chiles, Suni Lee and Jade Carey. She also won the women’s artistic individual all-around before claiming top honors in the women’s vault routine. She claimed silver in the women’s floor exercise and finished fourth on the balance beam.
Following her illustrious Olympic campaign, the second part of the docuseries will be released on October 25 and is set to give fans a glimpse of what it took Biles to impress in Paris. Netflix shared a humorous teaser with Biles depicting different scenes from the streaming service's show Emily in Paris.
The first scene showcases her as she talks about life in Paris, sipping champagne with the Eiffel Tower behind her. The second scene has Biles standing in front of a wall with different pieces of art. In the third scene, she talks about her love for crepes before she exits the scene while eating a pastry.
"And ever since I moved to Paris, my life has been chaotic, and dramatic and complicated. Without basic bitches like me, you wouldn’t be fashionable. I’m not somebody who can share a crepe, I need the whole crepe. Oh my God," Biles said.
Replying to the video on X, Biles said:
"Did I make Emily proud 🥹 Simone Biles Rising: Part Two, October 25 on @netflix !"
According to Rolling Stone, the third and fourth episodes of Simone Biles Rising will premiere on October 25. The second part of the docuseries will begin with the U.S. Olympic Trials for the Paris Olympics.
The first two episodes focused on Biles’ comeback following her 2020 Tokyo Olympics setback. Biles was struggling with her mental health at the time and struggled to make an impact at the Tokyo Games but managed to bounce back at the Paris Olympics.
Simone Biles details Olympic comeback in first part of her Netflix docuseries
Simone Biles went into the delayed 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games as a favorite but unfortunately struggled to make an impact citing mental health struggles.
In the first part of her Netflix docuseries 'Simone Biles Rising', the seven-time Olympic champion disclosed that her mantra, 'And still I rise', a quote by Maya Angelou, was one she resonated with and was vital in her comeback.
"Before I got this tattoo, it was a saying that I loved, obviously, Maya Angelou, and I was like, 'And still I rise is perfect' because I feel like that’s kind of the epitome of my career and my life story. Because I always rise to the occasion and after all of the traumas and downfalls, I’ve always risen," Biles said as quoted by the Daily Mail.
"Every comeback so to say that I’ve had, no matter what happens, I still come back, still try to do everything full force, full difficulty, like even after Tokyo. Come back, and I’m here, so, still, I rise," she added.
Competing at the Bercy Arena, Biles made a statement comeback as she was flawless throughout her Olympic campaign. At the delayed 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games, the 27-year-old could only manage a bronze in the balance beam and silver in the women’s artistic team all-around.
At the 2016 Rio Olympic Games, the 23-time world champion won four gold medals, including the women’s team event, individual all-around, the vault routine, and floor exercise. She claimed a bronze medal on the balance beam.
