Tara Davis-Woodhall and her husband, Hunter Woodhall, were recently featured in the Forbes Under 30 for their excellent achievements in sports and also on YouTube. The Paralympic athlete credited this accomplishment to his wife.
The couple had an incredible 2024 season. Tara delivered a stellar performance in the long jump, leaping 7.10m to defeat defending champion Malaika Mihambo. Meanwhile, Hunter won gold in the 400m T62 dash with a time of 46.36s at the Paris Paralympics.
Beyond their athletic achievements, the couple has amassed a significant following on YouTube, with 900,000 subscribers and 400 million views. Their exceptional performances and online presence have earned them recognition on the Forbes Under 30 list.
They shared this news through their couple page on Instagram, writing:
"So grateful to be named @forbesunder30. Proof of what is possible together. Thankful for the team around us who has been along every step of the way ❤️"
Hunter Woodhall reacted to this by giving the credit of this achievement to his wife, Tara Davis-Woodhall, saying that it would not have been possible alone. He wrote in the comment section:
"No one id rather do it with. No way I could have done it on my own."
The long jump athlete also commented under this post, saying:
"Can't believe we are chasing our dreams, and showing the world you can do anything you put your mind to."
However, earlier, the couple found themselves embroiled in a controversy with Michael Johnson, who made comments about the state of track and field.
Tara Davis-Woodhall and Hunter Woodhall reacted to Michael Johnson's controversial statement
The track and field legend, Michael Johnson, is launching an exclusive track event, Grand Slam Track, in 2025. Recently, he made controversial remarks in a BBC interview, suggesting a focus on saving track as a sport, rather than field events.
"Grand Slam Track is track, that is what we're doing. I am going to save what I think I can save; I think I can save track, I don't think I can save track and field," Johnson said. "Putting the two together works at the Olympics and World Championships, but I'm not sure it works when you're trying to create a professional sport outside of this," said Johnson.
Taking a dig at the same, Tara Davis-Woodhall and Hunter Woodhall took to their Instagram and shared a message for Johnson.
"First of all, Happy Thanksgiving. I'm thankful for everything, I'm thankful for my sport. About my sport, it doesn't need saving at all. It's actually Michael you're ruining this sport, if you're trying to save just track, it's track and field for a reason," said Tara Davis-Woodhall.
She added:
"We don't need your saving, you're long gone, your time is passed. If you wanted to change the sport, you should've changed it a long time ago instead you were skipping all of the sports."
Hunter Woodhall also chipped in by saying:
"Stop coming back because no one cares to be honest and we're doing just fine, we're doing great."
Amid this, the couple recently shared a glimpse of their Christmas decorations.
