Men's 100m Olympic champion Noah Lyles and his brother Josephus Lyles recently shared glimpses of a fun moment on social media. This comes a few months after Noah concluded his 2024 track and field season at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Both Noah and Josephus Lyles are elite track athletes who compete internationally. The brothers were expected to compete together at the 2024 Olympics. However, the duo were spotted in a completely different mood recently, as they took out some time to enjoy after the conclusion of the track season.
Noah Lyles took to his Instagram handle to share a video of the duo's fun karaoke night. In the video, the Lyles siblings can be seen singing "Smoking Out the Windo" by Anderson .Paak, Bruno Mars, and Silk Sonic.
Noah and Josephus had a very contrasting 2024 season when it came to their on-track performances. While the senior sibling (Noah) clinched two Olympic medals at the French capital, Josephus Lyles failed to qualify for the event after finishing fourth and fifth in the semifinal stages of the 200m and 100m events.
Track and field legend Asafa Powell heaps praises on Noah Lyles for his performances
Two-time World Championships gold medalist Asafa Powell recently heaped praises on Noah Lyles for his impressive performances on the track. Even though Lyles defeated Powell's countrymate, Kishane Thompson at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games in the Men's 100m, Powell was not shy to shed light on the immense prowess of Lyles.
In a recent episode of his show, The Powells, the former Jamaican track and field athlete stated that Lyles thrives over the energy of his rivals on the track owing to which he cannot be taken lightly in any stage of a competition. He said (via The Powells at 21:36):
"You guys cannot count out Noah Lyles because Noah feeds off people’s energy and speed. If the race was 9.75, he would have run 9.75 as well. He runs as fast as the races. If you run 9.69, he is gonna run 9.69 with you. He is gonna feed off that energy. You can never count Noah Lyles out."
Powell was a prominent member of the Jamaican 4x100m relay team that won the gold medal at the 2016 Rio Olympics.
