Noah Lyles extended wishes to his brother and fellow sprinter, Josephus Lyles, on his birthday on July 22. Lyles will head to the Olympics vying for the 100m, 200m, and 4x100m relay podium finishes. Josephus, on the other hand, aimed to earn the 100m qualification for Paris but fell short in the US Olympic Track and Field Trials.

Noah Lyles and Josephus Lyles turned professional in 2016, waving the option to compete at the US collegiate level. The Adidas-sponsored brothers have had each other's backs on the track at all times, as promised when decided to turn down college. In an interview, Josephus Lyles shared that having Noah Lyles to count on is 'pretty amazing'.

"It’s pretty amazing to have someone who’s always going to have your back, who you can always count on it. It makes it that much more meaningful that we could do this together," Josephus Lyles said. (via Olympics.com)

In a recent Instagram story, Noah Lyles posted a childhood picture of him with his brother and extended birthday wishes. The grainy picture featured the siblings smiling innocently for the camera.

"Happy Birthday @josephuslyles," he captioned.

While watching the 2012 London Olympics, the brothers dreamt of competing together at the 2016 Rio Games. Josephus Lyles missed making the 2016 Rio team in the wake of an injury, while the six-time World champion finished fourth at the Trials and failed to make the team.

Lyles made it to the 200m roster at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics but his brother couldn't. In an interview, the former teared up sharing that he just tagged along, whereas the Olympian should have been his brother.

"In 2012, my brother had the dream that he was going to come to the Olympics. I really just tagged along for the ride. And sometimes I think to myself that, you know, this should be him," he spoke through tears. (via TIME)

Noah Lyles - "This summer I'm going to win three gold medals in the 100m, 200m & 4x100 meters"

The 100m reigning world champion wishes to repeat the 2023 World Championships feat at the Paris Olympics. In the former event, he walked home with three golds at the 100m, 200m, and 4x100m relay, marking the personal best time of 9.83s in the 100m and running more sub20s 200m races than the great, Usain Bolt.

In an interview, Lyles unveiled that he will vie for three golds at the Summer Games. He also shared that the global stage wouldn't intimidate him since he already trained for it.

"This summer I'm going to win three gold medals in the 100m, 200m & 4x100 meters. Of course, it won’t be easy but that’s half the fun. I love the biggest moments, they feel like a stage to show the world all the work and passion I have put into myself and my craft. So, it doesn’t matter if the moment is big, it’s just another chance to shine. Because the moment isn’t bigger than me, it was made for me!" he said. (via Adidas)

Kenny Bednarek and Fred Kerley will head to Paris with Noah Lyles in the 100m and Bednarek and Erriyon Knighton will join him in the 200m.
