Following his engagement to long-time girlfriend Junelle Bromfield, Noah Lyles recently stepped out with her to visit Universal Studios Florida. Lyles recently proposed to his Jamaican partner after nearly two years of dating.
Lyles and Bromfield met on social media, and after months of talking when they met in person, the two decided not to pursue a relationship and chose to remain good friends. A few years down the line, the pair started dating in August of 2022 and went public with their togetherness in December of the same year via an Instagram post.
After navigating years of ups and downs, with their relationship facing criticism from the fans, the American sprinter proposed marriage on Saturday, October 12, and shared a video of their dreamy engagement on Instagram.
"To My Future Wife I Will Love You Forever," Lyles captioned the video."
Following the engagement, Noah Lyles took a trip to the Universal Studios Florida, aka the Universal Studio of Orlando, with his soon-to-be wife. In the video, Lyles asks Bromfield:
"Who wants to go to Universal Studios Orlando?" An excited Bromfield replies, "Meeee."
Before taking this significant step in their personal lives, both the runners participated at this year's Paris Olympics, where the American sensation won the first gold medal of his career in the 100m and secured a bronze in the 200m despite testing positive for COVID-19. In contrast, Bromfield reached the semi-finals in the 400m event.
Junelle Bromfield explains how Noah Lyles motivated her to participate in the Jamaican Olympic trials - "He was like there was nothing to lose"
During her interview with Simone Clarke on her Sim Soul Sessions YouTube channel, Junelle Bromfield said she was considering quitting her track-running career before this year's Olympic trials. However, it was Noah Lyles who encouraged her to appear for the trials, suggesting that she had nothing to lose.
"Even before the national trials, I was telling Noah that I'm not sure I want to do track anymore," she said. "I am like, I'm not sure this is a path for me, and I'm a business-minded person, so I'm here just coming up with a bunch of ideas. I'm like I'm heading out; I'm going to do this; I'm like I'm not even going to the national trials, and I was praying on it." [26:05 onwards]
"In that time too, Noah was like there is nothing to lose by going to the national trials. You trained all year for this, and it's just a trial; it's best you go and say I've done it, and this was my best instead of wondering what else I could have done. [26:10 onwards]
Bromfield acknowledged that Lyles' advice proved beneficial for her as she ended up clocking her personal best time.
