Noah Lyles' girlfriend Junelle Bromfield - "Track and field is not a sport that basically pays you million"
On September 27, Junelle Bromfield appeared in an episode of the Sim Soul Sessions podcast and talked about the struggles she endured and how moving out from a bad community skyrocketed her family's hopes for financial assistance from her.
The Jamaican athlete further shared how difficult it gets for her to navigate since track and field doesn't pay enough and most athletes work beyond their sport.
"I know even now like me and my family is at odd with that because I feel as if there's just so much you can do, and when people see you at a certain level, they expect that you can do the same for them, but that's not the case because track and field is not a sport that basically pays you million. Most of the athletes have to work after track and field," Bromfield said (at 7:57).
Bromfield was part of the silver-winning 4x400m relay team at the 2022 World Championships and won gold in the same event at the 2022 World Indoors.
