Paris Olympic champions Noah Lyles, Quincy Hall, Grant Holloway, Rai Benjamin, Jordan Diaz, and Hamish Kerr will not be part of the 2024 Brussels Diamond League. Out of nine champions, only pole vaulter Mondo Duplantis, 200m titlist Letsile Tebogo, and ace long jumper Miltiadis Tentoglou will compete in the Diamond League finals.
The 2023 World Championships three-peater, Noah Lyles, competed in his second Olympic edition in Paris, vying for his maiden 100m gold. He finished in 9.874s, just 0.005 ahead of the Jamaican second finisher Kishane Thompson. After narrowly clinching the top spot, Lyles defended his 200m bronze medal but collapsed on the ground, followed by his exit in a wheelchair. It was later confirmed that he tested positive for COVID-19.
Shortly after, he was caught confirming that he ended his season after the COVID situation.
"I ended my season. We decided that after the COVID situation, we are just going to call it there and I didn't want to keep pushing plus and I wouldn't have time to come out here and enjoy the gold medal tour as I call it," Lyles said at the 2024 US Open. [0.57]

"I will not be participating in the Brussels Diamond League Final due to a failure to reach agreements on the terms of my participation between my team and the meeting directors of the Diamond League. Shame that they doing athletes like that," he wrote in his X.
Alongside Holloway and Lyles, 400m champion Quincy Hall, 400m hurdles titlist Rai Benjamin, triple jumper Jordan Diaz, and high jump gold winner Hamish Kerr are not present on the official Diamond League finals list.
