Noah Lyles, Olivia Dunne, Masai Russell, and other athletes extend their warm wishes to Mondo Duplantis and his girlfriend Desire Inglander after announcing their engagement. Duplantis popped the question during a surprise proposal in The Hamptons.
The couple was shooting for Vogue Scandinavia when the pole vaulter pulled out the ring from his pocket. The couple during a Midsummer party four years ago. After several attempts, Duplantis managed to take the model and social media influencer on a date.
The couple went public in March 2021 and since then has been steadily nurturing their relationship. Inglander has been frequently spotted at track and field meets, cheering for her now fiance from the stands. Following the significant milestone in the couple's love story, several athletes, including Lyles offered their heartfelt wishes.
"Congratulations," wrote Lyles.
The Paris Olympics pole vault's bronze medalist Emmanouil Karalis also reacted with a teary-eye emoji, expressing his love.
The 100m hurdles and 800m Olympic champions Masai Russell and Keely Hodgkinson also sent their congratulatory messages to the couple.
"Omgggg congrats," wrote Russell and added a heart-eye emoji.
"Congratulations you guys," Hodgkinson conveyed.
South Africa's sprinter Akani Simbine, who bagged a silver medal in the 4x100m relay at the Paris Olympics, also jotted down his wish saying:
"Congrats brother!!!!"
Olivia Dunne wrote:
"Oh my goodness!! Congratulations."
The British sprinter and three-time Olympian Dina-Asher Smith also extended her warm regards and wrote:
"Congratulations," adding a white-heart emoji.

Mondo Duplantis and his girlfriend Desire Inglander engaged following the former's successful Olympic season.
He popped the question following his victorious streak in the 2024 Olympic year. Duplantis secured his second Olympic gold medal in the pole vault event by defending his title at the French capital. He cleared a stunning height of 6.25m to register a world record and defeated Sam Kendricks and Emmanouil Karalis, who posted 5.95m and 5.90m, respectively.
During an interview with Vogue, he stated that proposing to his girlfriend was more nerve-wracking than than competing in the Olympics.
“This is way more nerve-wracking [than competing]," Dupalntis said.
Mondo Duplantis later shattered his previous world record with a 6.26m jump at the Silesia Diamond League.
