American sprinting world champion Noah Lyles recently shared his take on his upcoming Netflix docu-series 'Sprint,' a show based on some of the best track athletes including Lyles, Sha'Carri Richardson, Gabby Thomas, Fred Kerley, and several others.
The OTT platform teases the trailer for the series on Friday, June 7, and the show is set to premiere on July 2. The series will shed light on various aspects of track running while providing a behind-the-scenes glimpse into the lives of athletes like Noah Lyles and others.
The trailer for the show is already trending on various social media platforms and the athletes are promoting the show on their official social media handles as well. Lyles expressed his enthusiasm for the series online after attending the premiere.
The sprinter shared a series of pictures on Instagram on Saturday. In one of these pictures, Lyles was seen in front of a billboard with "Sprint" displayed on it. He captioned the post:
"I would like to Announce the SPRINT has exceeded all my expectations!!!"
Sprint will reportedly be released in two parts. The first season will be based on the 2023 World Athletics Championships, while the second part is expected to cover the athletes' preparations for the 2024 Paris Olympics.
A brief look at the docu-series featuring Noah Lyles, Sha'Carri Richardson, and others
Sprint is produced by Box to Box Films, a production house that has previously delivered quite a few successful sports docu-series like Drive to Survive (based on Formula 1), Break Point (based on tennis), and Full Swing (based on golf).
Sprint will feature athletes from various countries like Jamaica, the United Kingdom, Italy, and Ivory Coast among others apart from the United States.
Paul Martin, the co-founder of Box to Box Films, waxed lyrical about the project and claimed they had "great access" to Noah Lyles and other athletes. He was quoted as saying (via Citius Mag):
"We're going to follow that same group of athletes up to the Paris Olympics, which is amazing. It's a really amazing show. We had great access to Noah Lyles, Sha'Carri Richardson, Jamaican sprinters, and Gabby Thomas."
Noah Lyles also praised Sprint on X (formerly Twitter) following the trailer's release for the docu-series. He wrote:
"This is definitely going to be @BoxToBoxFilms best show"
