Noah Lyles visited a Jamaican KFC outlet with his girlfriend, Junelle Bromfield, to savor a BBQ Zinger burger. The athlete couple engaged in a witty banter ahead of Lyles' 100m stint at the 2024 Racers Grand Prix.
Noah Lyles, the popular three-peat icon known for being only behind Usain Bolt, is on top of his game sweeping title after title on the national and global stages. Off the track, he has been dating fellow sprinter Junelle Bromfield since 2022. The two have been spotted sharing adorable moments on several occasions, especially when they walked the Milan Fashion Week ramp for Hugo Boss in 2023.
After a stellar start to the Olympic season, getting wins and love alike, the six-time World champion is on the track training for the Racers Grand Prix in Jamaica. Coincidentally, he will run the 100m race in his Jamaican girlfriend's hometown. So, the latter decided to give Lyles a taste of Jamaican KFC's 'BBQ Zinger' burger.
Junelle Bromfield took to her Instagram to post a video of Lyles receiving his order without having waited in the queue. Not content with his behavior, Bromfield jokingly addresses Lyles in the video and explains how that is not a 'real Jamaican experience'.
"I'm saying, if you do not stand in line and your ticket go behind there, it's not a real Jamaican experience."
Next in the video montage is Lyles savoring the BBQ and smacking his lips, clearly approving a delectable Zinger - the 'best' according to Bromfield's recommendation.
"I'm Noah Lyles, and today I'll be trying Jamaican KFC. Girlfriend told me that I need to get the zinger, barbeque.."
"Pretty good, more crunch," Lyles adds when asked for an honest review.
Earlier this year, in an interview on World Athletics Podcast, the Olympian shed light on how his relationship with Bromfield helped them grow as persons.
"It has taught me a lot of patience and I believe this is my best relationship ever but it has been so hard for me and such a challenge but at the same time, every time we get to another part, we just grow even more.”
He also shared that Bromfield likes to keep the relationship away from their professional careers. So, when they train together, she "won’t even let me (Lyles) call her 'baby' at practice!"
The Racers Grand Prix has been held in Jamaica since 2016. The 2024 edition is scheduled for Saturday, 1 June.
