Noah Lyles was recently seen spending time with patients at the Orlando hospital days after his Paris Olympics exploits. The American won two Olympic medals in the event.
He won the gold in the 100m and the bronze in the 200m dash. In the 200m dash, where he competed after testing positive for COVID-19, Lyles finished third with a time of 19.70s.
Days after his Olympic campaign, the 27-year-old was seen spending time with patients at the Orlando hospital in Florida.
Orlando Health shared a collage of pictures on their Instagram story, which was re-posted by Lyles. In the pictures, Lyles was seen spending quality time with the kids and playing video games with them at the hospital. They added a thank you note for the Olympic champion and wrote:
"Olympian and 6x world champion Noah Lyles stopped by today to spend some time with our patients at @aphospital. THANK YOU @nojo18"
Noah Lyles discusses his chances of running in the 400m event
After winning gold in the 100m and bronze in the 200m at the Paris Olympics, Noah Lyles talked about his ambition of running in the 400m dash. Making an appearance on the "Nightcap" podcast, hosted by Shannon Sharpe and Chad Johnson, Lyles voiced his belief in running in the 400m events.
Comparing himself to Jereem Richards, a 200m runner who also holds the national record in 400m discipline, Lyles claimed that he can reach similar heights in the event, keeping his strength in consideration.
"Jereem Richards – he is a 19.80s 200m runner. And he decided that he was going to focus more on the 400m this year. He was in that Olympic final. He got fourth with 43.78s. New national record. I believe it’s in the top 10 all-time fastest times. My PR is 19.3s in the 200m. And I have some pretty good strength on me as well," Lyles said.
Exuding confidence in himself for trying for the 400m world record, Lyles added:
"I truly would like to take a shot at the world record if I decide to move to the 400m truly and give it my 100% for multiple years – yeah I’m going after the world record.”
Noah Lyles now has a total of three Olympic medals, two from the 2024 Games and one bronze from the 2020 Tokyo Games, which he won in the 200m.
