Simone Biles was recently seen suffering a fall while trying a trick during one of her training sessions for the Gold Over America Tour. This year is the second edition of this event launched by Biles, and it commenced on September 16, 2024.
Biles introduced the Gold Over America Tour to celebrate the female Olympians in 2021, after the Tokyo Olympics. However, this year, male gymnasts are also a part of the event, including Paul Juda, Fred Richard, Brody Malone, Shane Wiskus, and Yul Moldauer.
Along with them, the likes of Simone Biles, Jordan Chiles, Hezly Rivera, Jade Carey, and Joscelyn Roberson, are also a part of the 2024 edition of the Gold Over America Tour.
The team's most recent performance came in Boston on October 6-7. Amidst this, an update was shared by Biles on her Instagram story, where she was seen trying a back full; however, she couldn't get a perfect finish and fell at the end. The 27-year-old wrote on her Instagram story:
"Back to the basics. Not all of us terrified of a back full though..."
She shared another video of her next attempt in her story, where she again fell at the end of the routine. She wrote:
"Progress. Made our way to a 21/2."
Simone Biles opened up about the fall in the beam balance during the Paris Olympics
Simone Biles shared a video on TikTok during the Paris Olympics, where she was seen talking about her health while doing her makeup for the uneven bars, where she did not compete, as she was a reserve. This video was recorded just a day before she fell from the balance beam. Talking about her health, the gymnast said that her body has started to shut down. (as quoted by Hindustantimes)
"I am really tired. I feel like my body is slowly starting to shut down, like, it's ready to be done," said Simone Biles.
However, this was not only the reason behind Biles' fall during the balance beam event. She also opened up about the loud cheering of the audience and the absence of music, which distracted her during the performance.
"You’re trying to stay in your zone, and then people start cheering, and then the shushing gets louder, so really, they should be shushed because they’re louder. We’ve asked several times if we can have some music, or some background noise, so I’m not really sure what happened there. But, yeah, not our favorite. None of us liked it."
Regardless of some downs, Simone Biles had an outing to remember at the Paris Olympics, winning four medals to increase her tally at the sporting event to 11.
