Olivia Dunne, Aleah Finnegan, and other LSU gymnasts react to former teammate Elena Arenas getting engaged to her boyfriend Garrett Edwards

Olivia Dunne, Aleah Finnegan, and other LSU teammates were recently seen gushing over their former teammate Elena Arenas getting engaged to her boyfriend Garrett Edwards, another former LSU athlete. While Arenas competed for the Tigers in gymnastics, Edwards served as a right-hand pitcher.

Arenas competed in her junior year for the Gold and Purple pack in 2023, making an appearance in all the meets. Edwards signed with Tampa Bay Ray in July 2023 after competing for the Tigers for three years. The two LSU alumni got engaged, the pictures of which were shared by the former LSU gymnast.

Giving a glimpse of the heartwarming moment to her fans, Arenas wrote:

"Said YES to forever!🩷 here’s to a lifetime of loving you!!!"

LSU gymnasts including Dunne and Finnegan were seen gushing over Arena's key moment.

"Congratulations!✨," wrote Dunne.

"SCREAMING😭❤️❤️ SO happy for y’all !!," wrote Finnegan.

"WOWWWWWWWW YES YES YESSS CONGRATS," expressed KJ Johnson.

"OBSESSED!!!!! SOO HAPPY FOR YALL," Haleigh Bryant expressed.

"OMG NO WAYYYYYYY!!! Congrats!!! ❤️❤️," Alexis Jeffrey chimed.

"Congrats to you both🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼," Chase Brock wrote.

Olivia Dunne highlights the moments she will cherish from her LSU gymnastics adventure

Olivia Dunne is currently competing in her super senior year in the NCAA circuit with LSU Tigers. After the Tigers clinched their first NCAA Title last season, Dunne announced her return to the collegiate circuit for her fifth year.

While speaking during a press conference on January 6, 2025, Dunne stated that the early mornings, late nights, and travel for competitions are some of the moments she will cherish following her collegiate career.

"It's definitely a challenge to be a D1 athlete no matter what sport you're in and I just think that the daily grind is something that I'm going to cherish forever as a D1 athlete and I'll look back at it," she said [9:30 onwards].

"It's just the early mornings with the team and the late nights and travel meets those are the memories you are never gonna get back so I can actually get emotional over it but it is such a special time and it's something I'll never forget," she added.

The LSU Tigers will next be seen competing against Arkansas on January 24, 2025.
