Olivia Dunne recently reacted to the LSU gymnastics' win in the season opener against the Iowa State Cyclones. Dunne will compete in her fifth and final season with LSU Gymnastics this year.
The LSU gymnastics team, currently ranked No. 2 nationally, kickstarted their 2025 season with a remarkable win against Iowa State with a score of 197.300-194.100 in the Pete Maravich Assembly Center. Approximately 12,324 Tigers fans were in attendance for this match, which was reportedly the highest for a home opener in history.
Their score of 197.300 was also the highest in a season opener since 2010. This stellar achievement caught the attention of Olivia Dunne, who lauded her team's win in her recent Instagram story by resharing the team's post and writing:

In an interview with Sports Illustrated published on December 17, 2024, Olivia Dunne opened up about her 'renewed' love for gymnastics and discussed her preparations ahead of the season.
"This past year I found a renewed love of the sport. I had trained a lot in the offseason, so I felt really strong and healthy from the start and ready to contribute," Olivia Dunne said.
Reflecting on the team dynamics and the past year's performance, Dunne also acknowledged the role women's sports played in inspiring the upcoming generations.
“I really enjoyed the dynamic of the team this year and it all came together well. Winning the national championships was a great team accomplishment, but I feel like I have more to give as an individual competitor. I’ve seen how important women’s sports are to the younger generation, and I want to be part of always advocating for those opportunities,” she added.
Olivia Dunne recently shared a message on her social media as she is gearing up to defend the NCAA crown in her final year at LSU. In the post, Dunne expressed her excitement for the upcoming season by resharing a video from the LSU Gymnastics' official account, which showcased the gymnasts gearing up for the NCAA Championships.
The gymnast recently participated in the team's 101 exhibition trials, which take place every year ahead of the NCAA season.
