Olivia Dunne and other LSU gymnasts compete in an Inter squad contest before the highly anticipated season opener

Olivia Dunne and other LSU gymnasts were recently seen competing at an intrasquad meet ahead of the squad's first clash of the season. After clinching the NCAA Gymnastics Championships title for the first time in 2024, the LSU women's gymnastics squad will enter as the favorites in the 2025 season.

The Golden and Purple squad will lock horns with Iowa State for their first clash of the season on January 3, 2025, at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Ahead of the season opener, Dunne along with other LSU gymnasts, including Aleah Finnegan, Haleigh Bryant, Kaliya Lincoln, Zoe Miller, Lexi Zeiss, and Chase Brock competed amongst themselves.

The Tigers' gymnasts competed in the intrasquad, the glimpses of which were shared by the LSU Gymnastics on their Instagram story.

"'Twas the intrasquad before the season opener," the caption on the story read.

Dunne, who announced her return to the Tigers pack for her fifth year in the collegiate circuit was seen competing on the uneven bars and balance beam. Sharing a video of her routine on her Instagram story, the social media sensation showed her excitement for the most anticipated season opener.

"Meet day tmr," she wrote.

Olivia Dunne sets her sights on contributing to LSU's second National Championship in 2025

Olivia Dunne recently expressed her goals for the upcoming NCAA season, intending to repeat last year's victory.

The LSU women's gymnastics squad bagged the 2024 National Championship after registering a remarkable score of 198.225 points, outpacing the California and Utah gymnastics squad, who earned 197.850 and 197.800 points, respectively.

In 2024, when Dunne competed as a senior, she appeared in nine meets for the squad, having competed on the floor eight times. The LSU gymnast and social media star posted a career-high of 9.900 points on the floor at the Podium Challenge and again at the NCAA Fayetteville Regional Second Round.

Dunne received the honor of being a member of the 2024 SEC Academic Honor Roll and was named Scholastic All-American for the second time. Ahead of the season opener, she shared a few pictures from the Gymnastics 101 event and wrote:

"New year 🔜 same goal."

Dunne showed her exceptional skills at her first appearance as a super senior during the Gymnastics 101 event on December 16, 2024.
