Dunne first rose to fame in 2020 when she began sharing glimpses of her life as a student-athlete across social media platforms. The American has gone on to become one of the most well-known faces of collegiate gymnastics.

In July 2024, the youngster, while battling injuries, announced that she would return to the LSU team in 2025 for her fifth and final year in the NCAA. Dunne and her teammates have gotten their 2025 season off to an incredible start and will face the Florida Gators on Friday, January 17, for their third meet of the year.

For Olivia Dunne, much of her 2024 season with the LSU Tigers was marred by injury. The gymnast competed in only nine meets throughout the season, achieving a career-high of 9.900 on the floor and posting a season-best of 9.875 on the uneven bars.

In July 2024, Dunne announced that she would be competing for the Tigers for one more year, telling lsusports.net:

“I really enjoyed the dynamic of the team this year and it all came together well. Winning the national championships was a great team accomplishment, but I feel like I have more to give as an individual competitor.”

Dunne has lived up to her words and has delivered some impressive performances for the Tigers in 2025. In their season opener against Iowa State University, the 22-year-old scored a 9.825 on the beam and a 9.875 on the floor. She followed this up with another series of commendable routines at the Sprouts Farmers Market Collegiate Quad, posting a 9.725 on the bars, a 9.775 on the beam, and a 9.85 on the floor.

Olivia Dunne and the LSU Tigers will return to action for their third meet of the season on Friday, January 17, as they take on the Florida Gators. The meet will be live telecast on ESPN 2.
