Gymnast and social media star Olivia Dunne recently gave fans an inside look into her Christmas celebrations. The youngster shared a snap of her festive outfit as she posed with her pet dog Roux underneath the Christmas tree.
Dunne first rose to fame back in 2020, when she began giving fans insights into her life as a student-athlete. Since then, the 22-year-old has become one of the most well known faces of collegiate gymnastics, and is the highest paid female NIL athlete.
In October 2023, Dunne revealed that she had gotten a dog, alongside boyfriend Paul Skenes. The dog, a golden retriever named Roux, often features on the gymnast’s social media pages and the pup even has its own Instagram handle.
Most recently, Dunne struck a pose with Roux under the Christmas tree, as she gave fans a glimpse of her festive attire. She shared the photo on her Instagram stories.
Olivia Dunne on her bond with her dog
Olivia Dunne once spoke about her bond with her dog Roux, and revealed she's been a fan of pets since her childhood, having grown up with a dog. She explained that being homeschooled meant she was incredibly close to her childhood pet, telling Country Living:
"I’ve always been a dog person. We had a family dog growing up. Her name was Biscuit, and she was a golden retriever. I was homeschooled growing up, so she was my best friend."
Dunne went on to explain that she was certain that she wanted another dog after Biscuit passed away, and her and Paul Skenes made the decision to get a pet together in October last year. Roux, named after the Louisiana cooking staple, was the perfect dog for the two, and the gymnast revealed that the pup is super active.
“Roux definitely keeps me on my toes. Whenever I’m with her, that’s usually my down time. I’ll be at my house just chilling, but she gets me off the couch and she gets me going. She wants to run around and play. She’s a little athlete in herself, so she’s keeping me active. I just think that dogs can really help with an active lifestyle and help you live a healthier lifestyle, which is super important.”
Dunne went on to call Roux a ‘blessing’ in her life, saying:
“She's wonderful and she’s a huge blessing in my life. Throughout the chaos of my life, between traveling and my active lifestyle and gymnastics, she grounds me and loves me no matter what. She’s amazing. She’s my best friend.”
For Olivia Dunne, the Christmas holidays will be her final chance to relax ahead of the 2025 NCAA season. The gymnast is returning to the LSU Tigers team for her fifth and final year, and fans will be looking forward to seeing her in action starting in January.
