Olivia Dunne opened up about starting her final year with LSU
Olivia Dunne received an extra year of eligibility, as she was a part of the COVID batch, which increased her eligibility to five years from the original four. Her return to LSU was announced in July, and she revealed that her renewed love for sport has brought her back to the university.
“This past year I found a renewed love of the sport. I had trained a lot in the offseason, so I felt really strong and healthy from the start and ready to contribute,” said Olivia Dunne (via Sports Illustrated)
She added:
“I really enjoyed the dynamic of the team this year and it all came together well. Winning the national championships was a great team accomplishment, but I feel like I have more to give as an individual competitor. I’ve seen how important women’s sports are to the younger generation, and I want to be part of always advocating for those opportunities."
Dunne recently performed at the LSU Gymnastics 101 intrasquad exhibition, which is an annual program that takes place every year ahead of the start of the new season.
