The Nebraska Huskers women's volleyball team won against the Wisconsin Badgers to advance to the NCAA semi-finals. The team recorded a 3-0 sweep over the Badgers, garnering cheers and appreciation from social media fans.

The Nebraska team, fresh off defeating Dayton 3-0 on December 13, 2024, entered the arena with core players Merritt Beason, Lexi Rodriguez, Harper Murray, and transfers Leyla Blackwell and Taylor Landfair. In the game, Taylor Landfair recorded a match-high 13 kills to lead the charge with Harper Murray and Andi Jackson with 10 kills each.

Nebraska Huskers advanced to the Final Four for the seventh time in the past ten seasons and the second time in a row. The women's volleyball team will play in the Final Four for the 12th time since John Cook started his tenure 25 years ago.

The team's monumental triumph left the crowd of 8,743 at the Bob Devaney Sports Center in awe. Meanwhile, social media fans also wrote congratulatory comments under NCAA Women's Volleyball's X post.

One fan thought the win against Wisconsin was by far the hardest for the Huskers, but opined that they would win the National title.

"What a sensational performance! This team is so determined, so driven, so motivated, put in 120% extra effort, esp defensively, it is destined to win the national title. To me, the Badger was the hardest hurdle."

Another fan chimed in to laud the Huskers volleyball team's efforts, writing:

"One of the most complete team efforts I’ve seen in a long time. Nebraska is on a mission — revenge tour 2024!"

Another fan shouted out to Andi Jackson for staring down her opponent after the final score.

"Andi with the final stare down"

Here are some other reactions:

"Go Big Red!" a fan commented.
"Congratulations Huskers let’s finish this," commented a fan.
"ANDI JACKSON GETS IN…AND KILLS IT FOR 25…THE WIN." another fan comment read.

The Brighton native Andi Jackson, who was named to the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll in Spring 2024, was the last to make a kill and anchor the Huskers team to victory. In a post-match interview, she claimed that the team is ready to make up for the past season's loss (to Texas) and win the National title in Louisville.

"Obviously last season didn't end in the way that we wanted it to, but we've done a really good job moving on from that and just holding on to what it was like and the things that we can get better on but not remembering or not holding on to it and letting it affect us this season and so getting a shot to go back and just almost redeem ourselves it's super exciting because I know this team can do it. I'm so confident in all of us and obviously everyone's got high emotions but I'm just so proud of the team," the sophomore said.

The No. 1 Penn State Nittany Lions ousted the Creighton team and advanced to the Final Four match-up against Nebraska Huskers on December 19, 2024.
