2024 Paris Olympic gold medalist Noah Lyles' mother Keisha Caine once opened up about her job of managing her son's on-track and off-track endeavors. This came a year ago in 2023 on the eve of Mother's Day.
Bishop has been a firm backbone in her son Noah's track and field career. Besides accompanying her sons to the track during important meets, Caine also manages her son's day-to-day activities and looks after the financial portfolio of the athlete.
Speaking in a video on Lyles' official YouTube channel, Lyles' mother Keisha Caine mentioned her role in Lyles' team and her job in Lyles' off-track life. Besides, she also shared she was extremely proud of her son's match-up against Michael Norman in the 2019 Rome Diamond League meet, when Lyles lost by a close margin of 0.02 seconds.
Lyles clocked 19.72 seconds in the race, with Norman getting the better of him, in 19.70 seconds. She said,
"One of my proudest moments as Noah's mother was when he lost to Michael Norman in Rome. First of all, it was an amazing race and after the race I finally get a chance to see him and I run over to him and hug him real tight and I said, "Noah that was a great race."
Further, Caine explained the job of managing her son and added:
"So the role I provide to the team is, I make sure all of the pieces are moving correctly for Noah. That means, specifically, making sure all his invoices are paid, making sure his mortgage is paid on time, and making sure his business credit cards are being paid."
When Noah Lyles's mother Keisha Caine slammed Paris Olympics security officials for ignoring her son's condition in the 200m final
Noah Lyles' mother Keisha Caine had slammed the officials of the 2024 Paris Olympics for their negligence, in not calling a doctor after Lyles collapsed on the track after the completion of the men's 200m finals on August 9.
Lyles competed in the 200m final, though not at his full prowess as he was suffering from COVID-19. The track athlete's condition visibly worsened after he finished the race, as he had to be taken off the pitch in a wheelchair.
Lyles' mother took to her Instagram handle a couple of days after this to say that she had requested the security officials to call a doctor, but her concerns were ignored by the officials. She wrote,
"Watching my son hold his chest gasping for air while the stadium security refused to call a Dr. as I begged them to send him help."
Despite running with COVID-19 in the final, Noah Lyles secured a podium finish as he took home the bronze medal.
