Mondo Duplantis, the 2020 Tokyo Olympics gold medallist, is one of the main attractions in the Ostrava Golden Spike 2024 pole vault competition. The Swedish athlete has started his 2024 season in great fashion, winning his second World Indoor Championships title. He will be looking to carry forward his momentum into the tournament in the Czech Republic.

This is Duplantis' third appearance in the Ostrava Golden Spike and he will be looking to defend his title. He emerged victorious in last year's event and also registered the meet record which stands at 6.12m.

Andre De Grasse

The six-time Olympic medalist, Andre De Grasse will be one of the top athletes to watch out for in the Men's 200m and Men's 100m races. De Grasse has already bagged a silver this season in the 4x100m relay event of the World Athletics Relays.

However, the Canadian sprinter is yet to show his prowess in the 200m category this season. As such, he will look to produce a meticulous performance and gain some momentum ahead of the Olympics. He will face some tough competition from the likes of his Canadian compatriot, Jerome Blake, and the two-time NACAC medalist, Andrew Hudson.

Two-time Olympic gold medalist, Marcell Jacobs is another player to watch out for in the Men's 100m event. This will be the Italian sprinter's first appearance in the tournament and he will be determined to make it fruitful.

He will face some tough resistance from Andre De Grasse and Reece Prescod, who emerged victorious in 2022.

Steven Gardiner

Two-time Olympic medalist, Steven Gardiner will be one of the favourites to win in the Men's 400m event considering the performances that he has put up so far this season. He has already clinched two medals this season, one at Baton Rouge and the other in the Doha Diamond League meet.

Recent form is in his favour and he will be desperate to continue in the same vein in the Czech Republic event.

Andrew Hudson
