Paris Olympics 2024 Medal Count Day 11: Updated tally as Team USA stands 1st after Gabby Thomas dominates 200m

Team USA maintain their dominance at the medal tally table in the Paris Olympics 2024. Following Gabby Thomas' victory, the USA's medal tally has risen to 86.

The American team is followed by the Republic Team of China with 59 medals, including 22 gold, 21 silver, and 16 bronze medals. Australia is following the Chinese squad with 35 medals, consisting of 14 gold, 12 silver, and 9 bronze medals.

Team USA has so far collected 24 gold and 31 silver and bronze medals. On Day 11, the American squad grabbed seven medals, including three gold, one silver, and three bronze medals. The medal count for each sport for the USA after the conclusion of Day 11 of the 2024 Paris Olympics is given below:

After securing a bronze medal in the 200m at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, Gabby Thomas transformed the victory into gold at the 2024 Paris Olympics. She clocked a stunning time of 21.83 seconds. To achieve this feat, she defeated the 100m gold medalist, Julien Alfred and her fellow teammate Brittany Brown, who posted 22.08 and 22.20 seconds, respectively.

Cole Hocker defeated the fan-favorite Josh Kerr after registering an Olympic record of 3:27.65. Kerr and Yared Nuguse listed 3:27.79 and 3:27.80, respectively to follow Hocker. Displaying her prowess, Amit Elor dominated the women's 68kg freestyle wrestling after pinning down Turkey's Meerim Zhumanazarova.

Anette Echikunwoke grabbed a silver medal in the women's hammer throw after covering a distance of 74.69m. Omari Jones clinched a bronze medal in the men's 71 kg boxing event after locking horns with Asadkhuja Muydinkhujaev. The latter dominated the bout with 3 - 2.

Day 12 will feature multiple events, including round 1, semi-final, and final for USA athletes. A few USA athletes to look out for on Day 7 are given below.
