Paris Olympics 2024 Medal Count Day 5: Updated Gold, Silver & Bronze Medal Tally for USA

Katie Ledecky proved her legacy yet again on Day 5 of the Paris Olympics. Team USA secured four medals on Day 5, two of which were earned in swimming. With 30 medals under their belt, Team USA is standing in seventh place, following China, France, Japan, Australia, Great Britain, and the Republic of Korea.

So far, Team USA has collected the most number of medals in swimming, with the count reaching 17, including three gold, eight silver, and six bronze medals. Poised as the favorite to win the event, Katie Ledecky defended her title in the 1500m on Day 5 of the 2024 Paris Olympics after posting an Olympic record with a stunning time of 15:30.02.

On Day 5, the American squad earned one gold, two silver, and one bronze medal. The medal count for each sport for the USA with the conclusion of Day 5 is given below:

On Day 5, i.e. July 31, 2024, Team USA earned its third medal in cycling. Perris Benegas clinched a silver medal in the women's BMX freestyle event by defeating Nataliya Diehm and following China's Deng Yawen.

Torri Huske collected the second medal in swimming for USA on Day 5 after finishing the race behind the world record holder Sarah Sjostrom. While Sjostrom clocked 52.16 seconds, Huske settled with 52.29 seconds.

The American squad saw its first medal in canoeing on Day 5 with Evy Leibfarth getting her hands on the bronze medal in the women's slalom C-1 event.

In which event can Team USA expect medals on Day 6 of the Paris Olympics 2024?

Team USA can expect a medal in the women's 200m butterfly event on Day 5 of the Paris Olympics from Regan Smith. After securing a silver medal in the 100m backstroke, Smith will vie for a gold in the 200m butterfly while locking horns with fellow teammate Alex Shackell.

Kate Douglas and Lily King are two favorites to earn the top two places in the women's 200m breaststroke event. King will vie to transform her silver medal in the event from the 2020 Tokyo Games to gold.

With the legendary gymnast Simone Biles and the 2020 Tokyo Olympic gold medalist Suni Lee competing in the women's all-around final, the American squad can expect two medals along with an electrifying showdown.
