Sagen Maddalena secured the first shooting medal for Team USA at the 2024 Paris Olympics on Day 7. After registering for an Olympic Record in the qualification round with 593 points, she went on to bag a silver medal in the final after scoring a total of 463.0 points. She was surpassed by Chiara Leone, who posted 464.4 points.
Regan Smith continued her silver medal streak at the Paris Olympics with a medal in the women's 200m backstroke on Day 7 by clocking 2:04.26, finishing behind Kaylee McKeown, who recorded an Olympic record with 2:03.73. Previously, Smith clinched two silver medals in the 100m backstroke and 200m butterfly events.
McLain Ward, Karl Cook, and Laura Kraut earned the USA's first equestrian medal, a silver medal in the team jumping event. They were dominated by the Great Britain squad, including Scott Brash, Harry Charles and Ben Maher.
Brady Ellison and Casey Kaufhold secured a bronze medal in the archery mixed-team event after defeating India's Ankita Bhakat and Dhiraj Bommadevara. They secured the victory after dominating in three out of four sets.
Grant Fisher secured the first medal for Team USA in athletics at Paris Olympics, bagging a bronze medal in the men's 10,000m. Ian Barrows and Hans Henken took home a bronze medal in the 49er sailing event.
