The Paris Paralympics 2024 are two days away from closure, with Day 9 events held on September 6. The quadrennial edition commenced with a spectacular opening ceremony on August 28. The track and field events were scheduled from August 30 to September 8.

Day 9 saw some excellent performances in the arena of track and field at the Paris Paralympics 2024. One of the highlights was the universal 4x100m relay where China qualified for the finals by breaking the world record of 45.52 seconds with a new record of 45.09 seconds. They further improved upon the time in the finals, winning the Paralympic gold medal with a new record of 45.07 seconds.

Another major highlight of the track and field events at the Paris Paralympics 2024 was the gold medal won by Hunter Woodhall of the USA. The para sprinter has been taking part in the Paralympics since the Rio Paralympics in 2016, yet a gold medal eluded him.

However, despite the odds, Woodhall overcame world record holder Johannes Floors of Germany to win his first Paralympic gold medal, with a time of 46.36 seconds. The Netherlands made a podium sweep in the women's 100m T64 category at the Paris Paralympics 2024, with Fleur Jong taking home the Paralympic gold medal.

In addition, Day 9 of the Paris Paralympics 2024 featured several other events such as the women's javelin throw, men's high jump, women's 200m, men's discus throw, and more.
