Simone Biles shared that her New Year plan was to cozy up in bed and sleep before the Times Square ball dropped. However, she added that her husband Jonathan Owens said he would set an alarm to give his wife a midnight kiss to ring in the New Year.
Shortly after collecting three golds and a silver at the 2024 Paris Olympics, Biles started visiting the NFL arena on a regular basis to attend her husband's games. Turning heads with her Owens-themed outfits, Biles even sacrificed Thanksgiving and Christmas with her family to spend time with Owens in Chicago.
In a recent interview with People, the 30-time World medalist was asked about her New Year plans. She revealed that the couple would retire to bed before the New Year ball drops in Times Square. However, Owens wished to set an alarm to wake up and kiss his wife at midnight.
“Me and Jonathan were actually talking about it, and I'm like, ‘We'll probably be in bed before the ball drops anyways. And he said, ‘Don't worry, I'll get up. I'll set an alarm for 12 so I could kiss you.’" (via People)
On December 25, 2024, Biles shared an Instagram story of the couple lying in a hotel bed during the holiday season since Owens' NFL game was around the corner.
"Christmas looks a lil different when ya man gotta report to the hotel."
This year, on Thanksgiving, as the Bears team played against the Detroit Lions, Biles was present to cheer on her husband from the sidelines.
After three years of dating, the 11-time Olympic gold medalist and the NFL safety tied the knot in 2023. However, after taking the wedding vows, they had to part ways for their respective career commitments.
Simone Biles shared that the couple would go on vacations in the coming months
Simone Biles and her husband's last trip was in February 2024 after the latter ended his NFL season with his former team, the Green Bay Packers. Busy with gymnastics competitions and the Paris Olympics, Biles hardly spent time with her husband in 2024 until the NFL season kicked off.
Speaking to People, Biles shared that the couple planned to take trips in the upcoming season. Another goal of hers will be to give back to the community that endlessly supported her in her journey.
"Jonathan and I want to go on a couple of vacations, we're planning those out right now. But other than that, just trying to give back to the community as much as I can because they've supported me through this journey," she said.
Biles hosted the second edition of her Gold Over America tour that stopped at 30 US cities from September 26 to November 3, 2024. She also included male gymnasts on her team this year.
