After more than a month of silence about her training post her disappointing outing at the Paris Olympics, Shelly Ann Fraser-Pryce is back to interacting with fans. In her latest update, the Jamaican seemingly hinted at a comeback, leaving her followers excited to see the former Olympic champion back on the track.
For Fraser-Pryce, 2024 has been a forgettable season. She had a late start to her year after injuries hampered her in the first half, making her season debut in June with a win at the JAAA Olympic French Foray 3. The Jamaican then went on to compete at the National Olympic Trials, clocking 10.91s in the finals to finish third and qualify for her fifth-consecutive Games.
In Paris, the 37-year-old ran a time of 10.92s in the heats to qualify for the semifinals, only to opt out of the race. While she thanked fans for their support in a short statement, Shelly Ann Fraser-Pryce failed to give a reason for her withdrawal and has since been relatively silent on social media about her training.
However, she recently shared a small update about her training with fans. Taking to Facebook, Fraser-Pryce posted a picture of herself in the gym, with the caption,
“Purpose doesn’t come with a deadline. When you know what you’re capable of, it’s ok to want more💯🚀 #MindsetMonday #MommyRocket #GoForMore.”
Fraser-Pryce also hinted at a comeback in another post from Sunday. The post read,
“All that I am and ever hope to be, I owe it all to Thee. To God be the glory To God be the glory. To God be the glory For the things He has done🙏🏾 #SundayBlessings.”
She followed this up with a comment that said,
“Being patient. God isn’t through with me yet 🙏🏾💯🚀 #RocketNation.”

For Shelly Ann Fraser-Pryce, Paris marked the first time she returned empty-handed from an Olympic Games. She made her debut at the marquee event in 2008, clinching gold in the 100m. She successfully defended her title in 2012 and went on to win six other Olympic medals throughout the next two Games.
