Gabby Thomas put forward an incredible performance in the 200m at the London Diamond League to win the gold medal a week before the 2024 Paris Olympics. The American athlete clocked 21.82s in the 200m to clinch the title in the British capital despite a highly competitive line-up.
Thomas began the race and was trailing behind Julian Alfred and Dina Asher-Smith in the first 120m of the race. As the athletes came off the curve in the first 100m to the final home stretch, Thomas trailed behind in the fifth position. However, the American athlete put forward a very strong finish in the final 40m of the race to win the gold medal and set a new meet record.
Julian Alfred set a new personal best and National record by finishing second after clocking 21.86s. Dina Asher-Smith placed third with a season's best performance of 22.02s.
Fans were impressed by Thomas' incredible comeback in the final moments of the race and took to X to express their excitement about the race.

Gabby Thomas qualified for her second Olympic Games after winning the women's 200m at the U.S. Olympic Track and Field Trials. She clocked 21.81s in the highly anticipated finals to defeat Sha'Carri Richardson and seal a spot in the U.S. Olympic Team.
