Nicki Minaj recently took a moment to express her admiration for Gabby Thomas. The sprinter and the Trinidadian rapper and singer-songwriter met at a US Vogue event.
Following her victorious streak at the Paris Olympics, Thomas has been navigating a busy schedule of making media appearances, attending events, and reveling in the spotlight. The American sprinter collected three gold medals at the French capital, including the 200m, 4x100m, and 4x400m relay events.
She defeated the 100m Paris Olympic champion Julien Alfred in the 200m event and clinched the top position by registering a stunning time of 21.83 seconds. She recently attended the Vogue’s Forces of Fashion event in New York City.
The legendary pop star was interviewed by the Olympic medalist after winning the Hip-Hop Album of the Year award for her studio album, “Pink Friday 2" at the 2024 BET Hip-Hop Awards held in Las Vegas on Tuesday. Following their first meeting, the pop star took to social media to express her admiration for Thomas.
Minaj shared a picture of Thomas interviewing her while she is seen holding her Olympic gold medal and wrote,
"I love her. Congrats to her. First time meeting her. Loved her instantly."
Thomas then shared the heartwarming praise on her Instagram story.

Fresh off her successful run in Paris, Gabby Thomas has fixed her sight on the 2028 LA Olympics.
In an interview with Olympics.com, she emphasized how special it is to compete on home soil. Reflecting on her performance in Paris, she shared her excitement and anticipated fans' enthusiasm at the LA Games.
“It is incredible that the next Olympic Games are on home soil. I cannot wait to be able to represent our country at home,” she said. “It’s been so much fun to do it here in Paris, but to be able to compete for your country, in the country, in LA, is going to be such an amazing feeling.
“I know we’ll have so much pride and people will be so excited to be there and celebrate us. I“It’s hard not to look ahead… but I’m definitely looking forward to that," Thomas continued.
