Brazilian Olympian Rebeca Andrade was over cloud nine after achieving her dream of dancing at the New York Times Square. The gymnast earlier beat America's Simone Biles for a gold medal in the floor exercise at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Andrade shared a video of herself dancing in the middle of an empty Times Square on Monday and claimed that it was a dream of her to show off the moves at the iconic square.

"Even looks like there would be no dancing in NY... I learned this one just to do it here. I'm so happy to be able to fulfill this dream of mine and it's so incredible that it doesn't even seem real! REBE EM NY❄️🩵✨,' she wrote in the caption of the video.

The two-time Olympic champion later reunited with gymnastics icon and rival Simone Biles at the Vtex Connect conference. Both were elated to see each other for the first time after the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Andrade and Biles have competed against each other for nearly a decade now after kicking off the rivalry at the 2016 Rio Olympics. While the Summer Games are largely dominated by the American, who won five gold medals, Andrade took the lead in Tokyo and won two medals including the vault title.

However, Biles reclaimed her throne at the 2024 Paris Olympics, securing four medals including three golds to become the most decorated gymnast in history. However, she suffered her first defeat to Andrade in the floor exercise finals and settled for silver while the Brazillian enjoyed the best Olympic campaign of her career, winning four medals.

Speaking in an interview with Vogue Brasil after winning four medals at the 2024 Paris Olympics, Rebeca Andrade said she wanted to retire after the Games and her most memorable moment from the quadrennial event was having her mother watch her win medals.

"I had decided that I was going to end my career after these Olympics, so I wanted my mother to be able to watch me at least once, since she couldn't go to Tokyo. Seeing her excited and proud, celebrating my achievements was the most beautiful moment of this edition for me," Andrade said.

The 25-year-old was raised single-handedly by her mother Rosa, who had seven other children as well and used to clean houses to raise her kids. Andrade started gymnastics as a four-year-old before going on to become Brazil's best and ending the struggles of her mother.
