Former Nebraska player Ally Batenhorst was greeted with a warm reception from Omaha Supernovas as she made her first home start as an outside hitter on Sunday, January 19. She signed her first professional contract with the club in December 2024.
The match was competitive, with San Diego winning against the defending champions in four sets. While Batenshort's arrival brought a buzz of enthusiasm, Omaha faced a tough challenge from Moji's strong performance throughout the match.
Omaha Super Novas celebrated the former Nebraska player's arrival at the team with a heartfelt note on Instagram.

Ally Batenhort has built an impressive volleyball career at both the high school and collegiate levels. In her sophomore year (2023), she posted a remarkable 15-5 record with her partner Bergen Reilly in beach volleyball, setting a Husker record for most wins in a single season. As a freshman in 2022, Batenhorst recorded a 9-11 mark with partner Keonilei Akana in her first collegiate beach season.
Unfortunately, at Batenhort's debut match, her team struggled to win over San Diego Mojo.
Omaha Supernovas fall to San Diego Mojo in four sets
Sunday's match drew a crowd of 12,723 fans, marking the second-highest attendance for the Omaha Supernovas in 2025. The impressive turnout follows a record-setting crowd of 13,486 at the arena during the Supernovas' first home game of the season, where they defeated Atlanta in a thrilling 3-2 match.
San Diego Mojo secured a hard-fought victory over the defending Pro Volleyball Federation (PVF) championship Omaha Supernovas in a thrilling four-set match, at CHI Health Center in Omaha, Nebraska. The Mojo triumphed 20-25, 25-19, 25-22, 25-22 improving to 2-2 for the season, while Omahal fell to 2-2 after their second consecutive loss.
Supernovas took control early in the first set, building a 6-2 lead and extending it to 16-9 before closing out the set 25-20. In the second set, San Diego fought back, with neither team able to pull away by more than two points until the Mojo edged ahead at 15-18, eventually winning 25-19 to tie the match 1-1. The third set saw San Diego break open a close battle, pulling away with a 7-2 run to lead 21-14.
Despite Omaha Supernovas's late push, San Diego held on to win 25-22, taking a 2-1 match lead. The fourth set was tied at 6-6 before the Mojo surged with a four-point streak, eventually extending the lead to 20-15. Omaha responded but couldn't close the gap, and San Diego sealed the match 25-22.
