Gabby Douglas recently reflected on her 2024 U.S. Classic performance. She did not hold back in sharing her honest thoughts about her uneven bars routine during her performance at the 2024 U.S. Classic, suggesting it was her most challenging bar routine ever.
Douglas made her return to the beloved sport during the 2024 U.S. Classic, held on May 17 and May 18 in Hartford, Connecticut, after having last competed at the 2016 Rio Olympics. She commenced her campaign on the uneven bars.
However, the 28-year-old suffered a nasty fall in the early stages of the routine. Unfazed by the setback, she bounced back on the apparatus and executed her remarkable skills. Douglas was then seen landing an impeccable double layout dismount on the uneven bars.
A few months after the events, one of the Olympic medalist's fans reminisced about the flawless execution and expressed their admiration towards the gymnast, stating:
"Gabby has always made this skill look so great!"
Douglas later shared the post on her Instagram story and stated it was the roughest bar routine for her.
"The roughest bar routine ever tho," wrote Douglas.
The uneven bars routine served Douglas 10.100 points. The Gymnast however later pulled out from competing in the further routines and missed out on appearing at the National Championships, ending the quest of making a return to the Olympics.
Gabby Douglas exudes confidence following the end of her Olympic quest
Although Gabby Douglas fell short of making a return to the Olympics, she displayed confidence in her ability to overcome obstacles and continue growing as an athlete while keeping her sights fixed on upcoming prospects.
Going through a DNA and Trait test, she expressed her belief in her inherent strength.
"With strength in my DNA, I’m wired for greatness," she wrote. "Every challenge is an opportunity to show what I’m made of. The results of my AncestryDNA + Traits test shows my DNA is set for strength, and it’s my mission to live up to that potential every day. 💪🏽 Here’s to embracing the strength we’re born with and making it unstoppable!"
So far in her Olympic career, the American gymnast has grabbed three gold medals. At the 2012 London Games, she dominated the all-around event, becoming the first African-American women to have achieved the feat.
