Usain Bolt expressed his disappointment about being unable to recover the reported $12 million that he had invested in a company that defrauded its investors back in 2023. The Jamaican athlete's attorney, Linton Gordon spoke to the media and revealed how Bolt was shocked and frustrated about being unable to recover the money he had invested.

The fraud came to light back in 2023 when the legendary athlete found out that he had $12,000 remaining in his account from the investments he made in Stocks and Securities Limited (SSL). Usain Bolt began his investments with the company in 2012 and reportedly has not made any withdrawals since then.

Speaking about the lack of transparency in the case, his lawyer spoke to Jamaica Gleaner and said:

“He’s very frustrated and disappointed. He’s simply shocked and disappointed to know a country he has put on the map and he put his money in an institution here, that he has lost it or he can’t get it back.”

Fans took to X to discuss the ongoing matter. They urged for a quick solution to the issue and hoped that justice was served to the legendary athlete.

"Run the man his money! This case is too hush hush ring down the crowd & disgrace they want Usain!"wrote a fan.
"Saw it coming. Heartache. I don’t know what they told him for him to have kept this quiet. They obviously took his kindest for weakness. The athlete is no finance expert. Jamaica and its systems fails everyone very often, and did a rotten job on this one. SMH,"another fan chimed in.
"So where has the money gone? Was it used positively and wisely? Is anyone going to be punished?" a fan questioned.

Here are some more fan reactions:

"We’re all shocked at, and disappointed with, the actions (or lack thereof) taken by “the powers that be” on this issue," wrote a fan.
" Nobody wants to lose millions in this way but just like if it happened to me a regular hard working Jamaican I’d have to wait on the courts," another fan chimed in.
"I feel it for Bolt but if I had the reach and influence then I wouldn’t be as passive," tweeted a fan.

As uncertainties arose about the recovery of his lost money, Usain Bolt took to X to share a series of cryptic messages. The legendary athlete also lashed out at the prevalence of fake news in the matter.

"They banking on the country youth love for his country.. but ask yourself do they love their country or themselves," he tweeted.

Currently, an investigation is been carried out with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) in the United States of America as well as other international partners. However, the investigative body has yet to release an update about the stolen funds.

Furthermore, as reported by Jamaica Gleaner, Stocks and Securities Limited (SSL) made an indication about their plans to pay the clients a week ago.
