Sara Hall has reacted after breaking the American master's record at the Valencia Marathon 2024. The 41-year-old overcame her disappointing performance at the Chicago Marathon to finish among the top ten at Valencia Marathon held on December 1.

Hall took to Instagram to express her thoughts and details of her record-breaking performance. She wrote:

"2:23:45 at Valencia Marathon. My fastest marathon in 2.5 years. Masters American Record. That’s more like it 😭"

Hall also emphasized the immense support she had received from her near and dear ones.

"If you’re going through a rough patch, don’t stop believing in yourself. Surround yourself with people who love and support you unconditionally. Throw the watch out the window and focus on enjoying the feeling. It will come back 🤍," added the American runner.

Sara Hall is one of the fastest American female marathon runners in history. She achieved a significant milestone in December 2020 by clocking a time of 2:20.32 at the Marathon Project, solidifying her position as the third-fastest American woman in the event. Additionally, Hall claimed the title of the second-fastest American woman in the half-marathon by recording a time of 1:07.15 at a Houston event in January 2022, setting a new American record.

Sara Hall, a renowned American marathon runner, has had a distinguished career with numerous titles and records to her name. However, she had a terrible outing at the Chicago Marathon 2024 which was held a few months ago.

While Hall managed to secure a top-ten finish among American athletes, her overall performance at the Chicago Marathon was disappointing, with a time of 2:30.12 that placed her outside the top twenty. In a post-race interview, she expressed her disappointment, stating that the race did not unfold as she had planned.

"It's pretty tough out there not quite what I train for so yeah I think I haven't debriefed with Ryan yet to figure out what went wrong out there," she said.

In an emotional Instagram post, Hall expressed disappointment at her performance and promised to work better.

"Man, that was tough. Went out in what I thought would be a conservative start (1:11) on a humid morning but despite fighting oh so hard I faded badly to 2:30:12. A little baffled as though this buildup got off to a tough start, was really happy with where we ended up. Poured a lot into this one as did my team, so it stings. But I know from an infinity times in my career, it’s all never wasted and will build into what’s next," she wrote.

Apart from her remarkable marathon career, Hall has also excelled in steeplechase. She clinched a gold medal in the women's 3000m steeplechase event at the 2011 Pan American Games in Guadalajara, Mexico.
