Jamaican sprinting legend Shelly-Ann Fraser Pryce's time with Elite Performance Track Club might have come to an end. As per reports, the 37-year-old has parted ways with her coach, Reynaldo Walcott, and his Track Club, which she joined back in 2020.
The tweet also stated that there hasn't been any official confirmation for the reason behind the sprinter and coach's decision to part ways. However, according to an online portal, Sportsmax, the Jamaican sprinter had reportedly parted ways due to the alleged unavailability of her coach, Walcott, when she needed him the most.
Fraser-Pryce had an underwhelming season in 2024. She had made a late start in June this year, owing to recurring injuries. She just managed to qualify for the Paris Olympics, with a timing of 10.91 seconds at the Jamaican Olympic trials.
Fans reacted to the news and expressed their thoughts on the social media platform X [formerly Twitter].
"Saw this coming. Good luck queen", wrote one user.
"I want her to sign the Grand Slam Track", suggested one user.
"I BEEN peeped that she’d be leaving Elite and I kinda hinted it to you guys that one time. I’m very curious to see who she goes to", added another user.
"I noticed the absence of her promotion on Elite in 2024, and she did not post with her training pals, so I figured stuff was not right!", one user wrote.
"Whats going on at Elite, just a few days ago Broadbell announced through his agent that he was heading back to MVP...", asked one user.
Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce left her previous coach, Stephen Francis in 2019, and during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, she helped in laying the foundations for the Elite Performance Track Club. The club was administrated by Reynaldo Walcott, a former associate of Francis and the then coach of St. Elizabeth Technical High School.

Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce had hinted that the Paris Olympics in 2024 would be her final appearance at the Summer Olympics. The 2024 edition of the quadrennial event was her fifth consecutive appearance since her debut at the Beijing Olympics held in 2008.
Fraser-Pryce had qualified for the semifinals of the women's 100m event at the Paris Olympics. However, for unknown reasons, she chose to withdraw moments before the start of the same.
A day later, the Jamaican sprinter broke her silence and shared the reason behind her withdrawal through a post on her Instagram account.
"It is difficult for me to find the words to describe the depth of my disappointment. I know that my supporters share and shoulder this disappointment with me. I am truly Blessed to have had the steadfast support of my fans since my Olympic debut in 2008. The support of my fans, my country, and the larger community has rooted me in immense gratitude that has sustained me throughout my career.."
Fraser-Pryce also alluded that while Paris Olympics might be her final Olympic appearance, her journey is far from over. More than a month after participating in the Paris Olympics, the Jamaican sprinter made it clear that she was ready to get back on the track in 2025 for one more season.
