Paris Olympics silver medalist Josh Kerr recently spoke about the head-to-head contest he would like to see at the Grand Slam Track 2025. Four-time Olympic medalist Michael Johnson recently launched the track and field tournament which is set to begin next year in April.

Kerr, one of the most decorated long-distance runners in the current era, also signed a deal to participate in the track and field tournament before the commencement of the 2024 Olympics in Paris. He recently appeared in a conversation with 2016 Rio Olympics gold medalist Morolake Akinosun during which he was asked about the battle he wants to see at the Grand Slam Track.

The two-time Olympic medalist stated in response that he is most eager to see a battle between Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone and Femke Bol at the upcoming tournament. He said (via Grand Slam Track):

"I'm trying to think, I mean having Sydney as part of it. I love that head-to-head battle with Femke. You know, obviously she has a lot of running in her. So, seeing them fresh and going head-to-head, I think would be one for the ages."

McLaughlin-Levrone and Bol are two of the best athletes in the current generation in the 400m hurdles discipline. A glimpse of this rivalry was witnessed at the recently concluded Paris Olympics where the United States hurdler defeated Bol to win her second Olympic gold. Bol won the bronze medal in the event.

Competing in the second Olympics of his career, Josh Kerr clinched a silver medal in the Men's 1500m event at the 2024 Paris Olympics. The Edinburgh native registered a run time of 3:27.79 to narrowly edge past Yared Nuguse who clinched the bronze medal after finishing just 0.01 seconds behind Kerr.

Following his second-position finish, Kerr stated (via BBC):

"It’s the fastest I’ve ever run. It’s the best 1500m performance I could ever ask for - a British record and a personal best."

Kerr finished behind US athlete Cole Hocker, who registered an Olympic record run time of 3:27.65 to take home the gold medal. The Brit had a comparatively better Olympic campaign than the one at Tokyo three years ago where he finished third in the 1500m event.
