Serena Williams' husband Alexis Ohanian was in attendance at Simone Biles' Gold Over America tour stop in Orlando, expressing delight over the show being a full house. Ohanian had concluded the Athlos NYC, the women-only track event he introduced to offer deserving exposure and stellar prize money to female athletes.

The Reddit co-founder has been actively associated with sports, especially investing in women's sporting ventures. At the 2024 Paris Olympics, he joined the likes of Flavor Flav to fund US discuss thrower Veronica Fraley's stay in the French capital so that her competition didn't face any obstruction.

Earlier in 2024, he announced the women-only track event, 776 Invitational (now Athlos) to elevate the profile of female athletes and provide them the visibility they deserve.

After Athlos NYC concluded successfully, Serena Williams' husband attended the Gold Over America tour, the gymnastics event headlined by the 11-time Olympian, Simone Biles. On the GOAT's 18th stop in Orlando, Florida, Alexis Ohanian graced the Kia Center and posted a snap of the houseful arena in his X handle.

"Packed house for @Simone_Biles and the crew"

The Gold Over America tour members have come fresh off the 2024 Paris Olympics, where the US women's gymnastics team earned gold in their 'redemption tour' after the Tokyo Olympics heartbreak. The GOAT frontrunner Biles earned three individual golds and a silver, extending her Olympic medal tally to 11.

The male gymnasts of the tour won the team bronze at the marquee event, marking the first team medal since the US squad achieved it in 2008.

In 2023, a viral video showed a young black gymnast being ignored by an official while handing out medals at a gymnastics event in Dublin.

The heartwrenching scene caught the attention of several people, who expressed fury on learning that the video was a year old and that the family received an apology 18 months later.

Biles extended support to the family by sending them a video and also called out Gymnastics Ireland, noting that racial injustice in sports is unpardonable.

"when this video was circulating, her parents reached out. It broke my heart to see, so I sent her a little video..."

Alexis Ohanian lauded the Olympian's gesture and opened up on the incident.

"I waited to comment on this because a part of me wanted to believe there was some missing piece of the story that would explain why it looked so wrong. There wasn't. And this happened ages ago with no apology until this clip went viral. Good on @Simone_Biles," his caption read.

Simone Biles' fellow black gymnast and her WCC teammate, Jordan Chiles also utilized her social media reach to support the young girl's family in the crisis.
