Serena Williams' husband Alexis Ohanian praised Gabby Thomas for her stellar 2024 season and believes that she would do better in 2025. Thomas was the first athlete to sign with Ohanian-hosted Athlos and even attended the launch of the women-only track event in 2023.

Having won the 200m bronze medal at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, Thomas vied for gold in Paris this year. Her prowess on the track at the 2024 Summer Games earned her not one but three golds in the 200m, 4x400m, and 4x100m relay. Following her success, she competed at the debut edition of the Athlos in NYC, winning the 200m silver behind Brittany Brown.

As a partner of the women-only project, Thomas often appears in Athlos' social media posts. On December 22, 2024, another Athlos Instagram post had Thomas talk about her healthcare career beyond track and field and how people fail to believe that she studied neurobiology at Harvard.

"I think people are pretty shocked to find that I studied neurobiology at Harvard. It's not a common path towards becoming a professional athlete, that's for sure... I currently work here at a healthcare clinic in Austin, Texas when I'm not training on the track. And I want to continue doing that long after I retire."

Alexis Ohanian shared the post on his Instagram story and lauded the Olympian, writing:

"It's @gabbythomas who probably had the best year ever and I expect 2025 to be even better."

Thomas soared to the 200m victory at the London Diamond League this year but was not part of the final stop in Brussels. Besides making waves on the track, she attended fashion events and served as a presenter at the Vogue Fashion Fund Awards, among other appearances.

Advocating for equality for women in sports, Gabby Thomas was pleased to compete in Alexis Ohanian's brainchild project. After completing, she shared how Athlos made the athletes feel welcomed and appreciated besides arranging for a grand after-party.

"I had a great time helping to put it on. The after party for that was incredible. Alexis Ohanian had done it, he laid out the red carpet for us. He had our favorite celebrities there. Megan Thee Stallion performed right there on the track. And it was just such an incredible cultural moment for us," she said to Ali On the Run show.

The five-time Olympian further added:

"It was so well thought out and we felt so appreciated and we had so much fun. And it was a celebration of not just our racing, but like us as athletes and our culture and just women in sport. And I've just never felt so seen and like understood and celebrated. So I think that that was the best post-race celebration for me."

Gabby Thomas recently received the Jackie Joyner-Kersee Female Athlete of the Year award for her impressive season.
