Sha'Carri Richardson reacts to being nominated for BET Sportswoman of the Year Award for 3rd year in a row

Sha'Carri Richardson is about to add another feather to her glittering crown as she was nominated for BET Sportswoman of the Year alongside several other iconic athletes. She had a special reaction to her nomination.

Richardson became one of the foremost women's sprinters who found her way to the top with some of the greatest track performances, one of which was winning the 100-meter world title last year in Budapest against the likes of legendary Jamaican runners Shericka Jackson and Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce.

Apart from that, Richardson assisted the team United States secure the 4x100 meter world championship gold. She is currently preparing to appear in her maiden Olympics in July and be the challenger to others that she has always been.

Apart from being one of the fastest women athlete in the world Sha'Carri Richardson is also known for supporting others and she has been vocal about the Black people as well. On Friday, BET tweeted about the Black women athletes featuring the names like Simone Biles, Coco Gauff, Angel Reese getting nominated for the Sportswoman of the Year and wrote:

24-year-old Richardson was quick to react to the post and retweeted it with a crown emoji.

This is Sha'Carri Richardson's third successive year when the runner got nominated for the BET Sportswoman of the Year Award. However, she has yet to win the award, as she lost it twice to Naomi Osaka in 2022 and Angel Reese in 2023.

Sha'Carri Richardson has become one of the trailblazing figures in track and field, and her electrifying speed has to be credited for that. Her list of awards and recognitions has just started to grow, but the runner already has numerous plaudits in her trophy cabinet, including a Pan American U20 title and a three-time Diamond League meeting winner.

She was also crowned with the prestigious Bowerman Award in 2019, which is given to the best collegiate athletes and is regarded as the greatest award in university track and field.

Richardson was presented with the Jackie Joyner-Kersee Athlete of the Year last year in December during the USA Track and Field (USATF) Night of Legends, following her astonishing performance at the 2023 World Athletics Championships.
