Shaun White recently shared his excitement about the upcoming Olympic Games in Paris. The American snowboarding star has been an avid sports fan and is often spotted at various events, beaming with enthusiasm and spirit for the sport.
Shaun White retired from the sport after finishing fourth in the 2022 Winter Olympics in the halfpipe. Since then, he has been exploring different business avenues as well as staying connected to snowboarding and sports in general.
White created multiple records throughout his two-decade-long illustrious career. He participated in the Olympic Games five times throughout his career and clinched the gold medal in the men's half-pipe a record three times.
Even though the American snowboarder participated in the Winter Olympics, he took to Instagram to share his excitement for the upcoming Olympic games in Paris later this year with 100 days to go for the coveted event.
This would be the first ever Olympic Games after his retirement. With some of the top athletes as well as upcoming stars ready for the showdown in 100 days, excitement and anticipation among fans as well as pro athletes is at an all-time high.
Shaun White opens up on his retirement from the sport during his final Olympics appearance
Shaun White made his final Olympic appearance at the 2022 Winter Olympics Games held in Beijing, China. He spoke about his last Olympics appearance after an illustrious career spanning two decades.
"It will be my last competition, which is pretty special. It's my last Olympics in competition. Everything's got this extra excitement to it. The last time I'll be doing this (a pre-race press conference), the last time sitting with you guys (his USA teammates), the last opening ceremony, all these things, you know, so it's pretty, pretty heavy, but I'm enjoying it," he said. Furthermore, the legendary American snowboarder spoke about his preparations when he geared up for his final appearance, saying:
"I've been giving it my all. There have been ups and downs to get here, but through it all I've gotten stronger and better the whole way and I'm excited to be here."
During his final appearance, he was cheered on and encouraged by his family and girlfriend, Nina Dobrev from the stands. Even though the results did not go his way, he placed fourth in the half-pipe final, and his illustrious career has been an inspiration for generations to come.
