Shaun White made his feelings known for his fiance Nina Dobrev as the latter made a snow butterfly while enjoying their holiday season. White and Dobrev got engaged in October this year after years of dating.
White, the most decorated snowboarding athlete with the most X Games wins in history, first met Nina Dobrev of The Vampire Diaries fame in 2012 but they formally introduced themselves in 2019. Their romance sparked after a dinner date in late 2019 and the couple got engaged in October 2024.
Months later, they rang in the holiday season with quality time in a snowy setting. The 10-time ESPY Awards winner shared a slow-mo video of the Canadian actress making a snow butterfly.
In awe of the latter, White wrote:
"She's beauty, she's grace."
White's following story was also about embracing the holiday spirit as the snowboarder's family members were spotted perched on the couch, reading books, while it was snowing heavily outside.
"Mornings with the Fam. Snowing. Today's a good day," the caption read.
White next uploaded his fiance's picture inside the house with kids and strolling on a snowy trail outside.
Shaun White's brainchild, The Snow League, an event focused on snowboarding and freeskiing, will host its inaugural edition on March 7-8, 2025 with 36 athletes. In a recent Instagram post, White was amazed to see the promo of The Snow League in Times Square.

Shaun White once penned a heartfelt note for Nina Dobrev while recalling the magical night of their engagement
Shaun White sent Nina Dobrev a fake invitation to an intimate CFDA/Vogue dinner with Anna Wintour through his agent. The latter got tricked and anticipated the dinner at the Golden Swan restaurant in New York City but got surprised by her suited-up boyfriend holding a ring in front of a white archway.
The Canadian actress nodded saying 'yes' and the couple embraced with emotions brimming. Sharing the moment on his Instagram handle, White expressed love for his fiance with a note, reading:
"...Our quarantine romance turned into this beautiful relationship and now a forever love. Believe me when I say that this app mostly shows us at our best. Behind the curtain like any relationship, we’ve had our struggles. But it’s our ability to communicate and repair that keeps us moving forward together. I’m so thankful for the life lessons, gratitude, adventure and love that Nina has taught me, and I only wish to show her the same in return..." (November 14, 2024)
White collected accolades in skateboarding alongside snowboarding, becoming the first person to win both the Summer and Winter X Games in two different sports.
