Noah Lyles and Junelle Bromfield have been a power couple on and off the track for quite some time now. However, before the Paris Olympics, Bromfield came under fire from Jamaican athletics fans for ‘leaking’ the nation's training secrets to Lyles, and the 100m Olympic Champion was quick to speak out against the hate.

Lyles and Bromfield have been together since 2022, and have been one of track’s most successful couples. The duo often share the insights of their day-to-day life across their social media platforms, much to their fans' delight. In a recent interview with Track News World, the American revealed he often gets inside information about the happenings of the Jamaican track world credit to his girlfriend, saying he ‘knows information other people don't’.

He also added that Bromfield would often speak to him about runners she thought held potential, saying,

“I’ve known about a lot of the Jamaicans that are on the underground, and usually Junelle’s eye for talent is very strong. If she says that somebody is going to run fast, they usually run fast."

However, Noah Lyles’ revelation irked quite a few Jamaican track and field fans, with many labeling the 400m runner a ‘traitor’ amongst other unflattering things. Now, the American is fighting back against the hate his partner is facing, writing on his social media:

“I just want to say how incredibly proud I am of my GF and give her the flowers she deserves now 💐. She has been through so much in her life that I could never imagine fighting through. Beyond that she is a survivor, 2x Olympian, Olympic medalists, Multi world championship medalist, and has been representing Jamaica on the world stage since she was 8 years old.”
“But the most impressive thing I’ve seen recently is how she’s dealt with the pure disrespect and hatred towards her from her own country. This woman has been attacked by people who have never met her, heard her name before, never seen her smile, or heard what she believes in. But she keeps moving forward knowing that God will always make a way. That's why God keeps blessing her!”

Junelle Bromfield thanks Noah Lyles after his heartfelt note

After Noah Lyles came out in support of Junelle Bromfield and spoke out against the hate she's been receiving, the Jamaican was quick to respond in kind. In the comments section of the original Instagram post, she thanked the American for his support, and went on to narrate how he had helped her cope with her brother’s demise.

“Thank you baby for always supporting (me), long before we even started dating. I remember (in) 2019 you had just became World Champion and my brother passed away. Around that time, in the midst of celebrating one of your biggest achievements, you tried so hard to make me feel better, to help me see the positive in life, and how god will always pull me out of a dark situation.”

Bromfield went on to share that Noah Lyles' had been there for her on a Christmas where she received no gifts, writing:

“Christmas that year I didn't receive any gifts. When you found out that you made it your duty to buy me whatever I wanted because you said Christmas is about giving and no friend of yours will go without a gift. That's the type of person you are, I love and appreciate you always.”

Noah Lyles and Junelle Bromfield have both been outspoken about their love for each other, and often show up to cheer for each other when they are competing.
