Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone took a comfortable victory in the 400m hurdles heat at the 2024 US Olympic Trials. Her impressive time of 53.07s drew the attention of track fans, who hailed the 400m hurdles reigning champion on her way to defend her Olympic title in the same.

Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone broke fellow US hurdler Delilah Muhammad's record in the 400m hurdles at the 2021 US Olympic Trials. She further lowered her own world record time to 51.46s at the Tokyo Olympics and clinched the gold.

At the 2022 USATF Championships, McLaughlin-Levrone broke her record again in 51.41s. Maintaining her win streak and world record-breaking effort, she lowered the time to 50.68s at the World Championships in 2022.

In 2023, the 24-year-old had withdrawn from a couple of races, including the World Championships, citing a knee injury. But her strong comeback in 2024 anchored her to the coveted Olympic Trials roster.

In the 400m hurdles heat, Syndey McLaughlin-Levrone clocked 53.07s to finish way ahead of her rivals, as posted on X by NBC.

Seeing this, track fans couldn't hold their anticipation to watch McLaughlin-Levrone sweep the Olympic title and break another record.

One fan lauded the hurdler for touching the finish line with no one around.

"Light work....not another woman on the screen when she crossed the finish line."

Another fan paralleled Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone with the likes of the most decorated female swimmer, Katie Ledecky, who qualified in four events at the Paris Olympics 2024.

"She’s like the Ledecky of 400m hurdles."

Another fan was in awe to watch Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone running in not her best but still claiming victory.

"Pure dominance, and she wasn’t even going all out lol."

Here are some of the other reactions:

"And she was jogging," a fan tweeted.
"More news. Good news. Sydney’s back and dominating," a fan commented.
"SHE’S SUCH A DAMN DAWGGGGG!!!!" tweeted a fan.

Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone has opened up about keeping faith in Jesus Christ and leaving everything to fall in place on its own. She also shared that she isn't running to validate herself but to point all of the attention back to Him [Christ].

"Now, when I step on the line, I’m not running to prove a point. I’m not running to validate myself, and I’m not running to glorify myself. It’s using the gift I’ve been given to point all of the attention back to Him and show that He’s worth it, win, lose, or draw," she said. (via Women's Health)

The 400m hurdles Heat 1 at the Paris Olympics will take place on August 4, 2024.
