Salwa Eid Naser hunting for first Olympic medal as all roads lead to Paris 2024 Olympic Games
Bahrani sprinter Salwa Eid Naser will make her Olympic comeback in Paris after missing out on the delayed 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games due to a ban by the Athletics Integrity Unit.
The former world 400m champion found herself on the wrong side of the law with the Athletics Integrity Unit over missed drug tests and was handed a two-year ban. Salwa Eid Naser’s ban began on June 30, 2021, and ended early last year.
She is now back on track and ready for the challenge that awaits her at the Olympic Games. All eyes will be on her as she looks to claim the title following the withdrawal of defending Olympic champion Shaunae Miller-Uibo.
The 26-year-old made her Olympic debut at the 2016 Rio Olympics but failed to reach the 400m final after being eliminated in the semifinals. She finished third, clocking 50.88 but her time was not among the fastest in the semifinals, cutting short her Olympic dream.
