Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce garnered attention by sharing a selfie in her latest update. The athlete is in her off-season months after wrapping up her 2024 season.
The Jamaican athlete's 2024 season did not turn out as expected, considering her experience at the Paris Olympics, where she had to withdraw from events, citing an injury. However, following this, she went on her off-season and spent that on a positive note. Fraser-Pryce spent her time working for her organization, trying new hairstyles, spending time with her family, and more.
She shared updates about it on social media and has recently again turned up the glamour after sharing a selfie on her Instagram story. She wore black-colored swimwear with a picturesque view of the pool in her background and wrote in the caption:
"Hello❤️ "
Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce was expected to run in the 100m dash at the Paris Olympics. However, she only competed in the Olympic trials, where she earned a third-place finish, booking her place at the 2024 Summer Games. Following this, she withdrew from the semifinals on August 3, citing an injury.
The 2024 Games were supposed to be the athlete's last Olympic appearance as she announced her retirement earlier in the 2024 season.
When Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce opened up about her retirement after the Paris Olympics
In an interview with Essence in March 2024, Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce opened up about her plans for retirement after the Paris Olympics. She acknowledged her son needed her and spoke about how her husband supported her.
"There’s not a day I’m getting up to go practise and I’m like, ‘I’m over this.' My son needs me. My husband and I have been together since before I won in 2008. He has sacrificed for me. We’re a partnership, a team. And it’s because of that support that I’m able to do the things that I have been doing for all these years. And I think I now owe it to them to do something else," said Fraser-Pryce.
The Jamaican athlete's current Olympic medal tally is eight, including three gold, four silver, and one bronze. Apart from her track accomplishments, Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce also started her own hair care brand - AFIMI - ahead of the Paris Olympics and announced the commencement of her business on social media.
