Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce's sacrifice for her family

Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce recently made an announcement about retiring after the Paris Olympics 2024 in an interview with Essence.com. She shared that her family was one of the main reasons behind her retirement. The sprinter expressed, "my son needs me," and she will be spending more time with her family.

"My husband and I have been together since before I won in 2008," said Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce. "He has sacrificed for me. We're a partnership, a team. And it's because of that support that I'm able to do the things that I have been doing for all these years."

The Olympian and her husband, Jason Pryce, met each other at the University of Technology in Kingston, Jamaica, in 2007. Pryce got introduced to the sprinter through a mutual friend, Asafa Powell. They eventually got married in 2011 and completed thirteen years of marriage on January 10.
