Shericka Jackson made her first track appearance since withdrawing from both the 100m and the 200m at the Paris Olympics. The Jamaican athlete competed in the Queen’s/Grace Jackson Meet in the 60m event and finished second with a performance of 7.18s (-0.4).

Jackson was overpowered by Jodean Williams, who registered a strong performance of 7.15s to clinch the victory. This was the former double Olympic gold medalist's first race in almost 200 days as she navigated through injuries that hindered her from competing at the quadrennial games in Paris.

The 30-year-old athlete struggled with her start in her season debut, which prevented her from taking the top spot after a strong drive phase and finish. Fans took to social media to express their thoughts on Shericka Jackson's first race of the season.

"She's not ready for Sha'Carri," wrote a fan.
"Soo happy to see Jakko complete her first race in 6 months healthily. Only up from here!! 👏🏽👏🏽🖤💚💛,"another fan chimed in.
"Not the best of starts but the rust is off and Shericka Jackson is racing again. Which for fans, is what they haven't seen in six months," another fan tweeted.

Here are some more fan reactions:

"Congrats Jodean🥳🥳🥳 Once Jackson healthy we can work with that🔥," wrote a fan.
"Gabby better prepare herself for some wiring," another fan chimed in.
"Revenge tour this summer," wrote another fan.

Shericka Jackson had landed in Paris intending to defend her Olympic title against a highly competitive lineup that included Gabby Thomas, Sha'Carri Richardson, and Juline Alfred, among others. She withdrew from the women's 100m and revealed the reason for her withdrawal at an event in the French Capital.

Jackson revealed that she decided to let go of her participation in the women's 100m to safeguard her body as she suffered a cramp weeks before at the Hungarian Grand Prix. Moreover, she revealed that she looked forward to competing in the 200m.

“The decision is just to protect my body. As I’ve said for the last three years, I’ve been competing in both events. It’s a combination of both just focusing on one event and what happened in Hungary,” she said

The Jamaican athlete was also seen warming up before the 200m heats; however, she withdrew moments before the athletes were lined up in the stadium, ultimately ending her Paris Olympics campaign altogether.
