Allyson Felix introduced the first of its kind nursery for the parents athletes at the 2024 Paris Olympics. With the Games underway, the safe space, set up at the Olympic Village, is witnessing children and their parents bond over fun-filled laughter and activities, garnering love and appreciation from social fans.
Felix had a very successful career, as she amassed seven gold medals at the Olympics for her significant efforts in the 200m and relay teams. She retired before the Paris Olympics but her contribution to the sporting community alleviates the Games experiences of several athletes, especially the parent athletes.
Felix, the mother of two, gave birth to her firstborn, Camryn, via emergency C-section in 2018. She carried Camryn to every meet and realised the hardship of athletic mothers.
“It was just kind of an eye-opening experience,” she said. “I took her everywhere that I was competing, and I kind of was surprised at how hard it was..'she said. (via Los Angeles Times)

Allyson Felix was hit with the idea of standing for mother athletes when Nike didn't support her motherhood
Since the beginning of her career, Felix joined hands with the athletic giant brand, Nike. But after Camryn was born, she faced the hardest blow from Nike, when the brand refused maternity protections and offered a 70% pay cut.
The turn of events motivated her to stand for the rights of mother athletes.
"I was blown away. I thought it wasn’t a huge ask, so I was more shocked that it was even an issue. And, yeah, it just made me want to fight for it even more," said Felix. (via Los Angeles Times)
Felix gave birth to her second child, Kenneth Maurice Ferguson III, in April, 2023, but experienced a seamless birthing journey. Felix acquired the role of sports correspondent for the Paris Olympics.
